More practical than a regular "wall wart."
The two piece design is very useful. You don't have to try to find an open socket on your power strip that will not interfere with other power plugs or warts. Just unplug the AC cord set from the power supply when you are not using your powered device. No muss, no fuss. Like it.

If You Play Upright Double Bass, DON'T Buy This Piece of Junk.
I started playing upright double bass again and I needed a decent tuner. This ain't it. The gauge only responds in chromatic mode, and all the notes it calls out are wrong. In bass mode there is no reading on the scale and it recogizes the 'G' 'D' and 'A' string correctly, but inists that the 'E' string is a 'C'. I've clamped it on the bridge and on the neck in the tuning peg/scroll area and neither works. I've tried mic mode and no good either. I don't need this for my electric basses, so if I can't return this, it will go in the trash. A totally wasted purchase. The Earnie Ball website is useless as well.

Where the Wheels Meet the Track
N scale locomotives are normally problem ridden due to the size of the wheels and the relative size of dust particles or little bits of grime on the track. Walthers locos are unusually decent when it comes to electrical conductivity and smooth running. Not sure who makes these locos for the Walthers brand, but they are as good as, if not better than Kato products, as well as having the common Micro Trains style of magnetic coupler instead of some proprietary style. Even with regular maintenance and usage, my N scale locomotives have been dependable for only about a year. Hoping this one made for Walthers gives me more than that. Overall, seems to be a very good product.
