A book with both historic and practical value

It's a great overview of the AI field in mid-80s. It's written by one of the disciples of Marvin Minsky who went on to become the director of MIT AI lab. The practical value lies in the fact that a lot of the ideas described are relatively simple to implement at small scale and can be very helpful in many areas even today (from game development to managing business logic).

Good addition to many meals

Pretty versatile. Goes well with noodles, rice, boiled eggs, etc. Can be used as-is or softened in hot water. Interesting taste.

Excellent recording device with good preamps

Very small and very capable device. Low self-noise and quiet pre-amps allow for excellent quality of recording. It also supplies plug-in power for microphones, so you can use professional-grade lavaliers. Also capable of recording line-level signals. Good features for organizing your recordings. The device doubles as a capable MP3 player. Maximum supported file quality is PCM 44100/16 bit (i.e. CD quality). The only major annoyance is that it doesn't have a clip indicator.
