One of the best recordings I own.

One of the best albums(cds)I own. I remember hearing this in the 80's on an album and for whatever reason decided to order up the cd. When I heard it I couldn't believe how good it sounded, both lyrically and musically again. The drummer is unbelievable as is Matt Johnson. It always amazed me that this band was not one of the top bands of the 80's. My music tastes go from Classic Rock to New Wave (not punk) to even Country and with over 500 albums and cds in my collection, I consider this to be in the top 10.

Phenomenal artist

Although I don't personally agree with Gil Scott Heron's politics, his rhythm and blues style and his obvious ability to articulate and paint a picture with words is incredible. I first heard this album/cd back in the 80's and what's really interesting is the timeliness of some of his comments here in 2009. I wonder if he'll write similar stories about Obama as he did about Ronald Reagan? Still a blast to listen to with a little wine and whatever???
