Almost Perfect

I traded up from my Escort 8500 x50 for this, and it was certainly worth it. Just on my drive to work this morning this detector saved me more than it cost! The volume is substantially louder than on previous units, which is a great benefit when driving with the top down, and the ability to lock out radar signals from non-law-enforcement transmitters is a real bonus. The sensitivity of this is amazing, as I've been able to detect signals strongly over a mile away. The auto-learn feature is also useful, ignoring false signals after being exposed to them three times. My only negative is that Escort decided to put the power cable plug on the left side of the unit rather than the right as it was on the 8500. This makes the cable come down over the center of my dashboard. A petty annoyance, but worth mentioning. The bottom line is that, unlike other detectors, when this unit alerts you better SLOW DOWN. The chances of it being a false alert are far less than any other detector I've used. I highly recommend it!
