The only knife ever needed!
Well over a year ago I purchased this knife through E-Bay. It is the best knife I have ever owned and only cost me thirteen dollars. The handle is comfortable and the knife is totally safe to use because of the handle design. The steel is 1095, sharpens to a amazingly razor sharpness and retains the razor edge under very hard usage. The knife blade gives out tremendous amounts of sparks when I use it on my ferrocium rod to start my camp fires. This knife does not come with a sheath. I am able to make my own leather sheath and will complete it tomorrow. I just ordered another knife made in El Salvador. This Russell Knife, is in my opinion probably better. However, I would not hesitate to use either one in a survival situation.

Great Knife!
I ordered this knife recently and do like it a lot EXCEPT for one flaw. It does not strike vigorous sparks when I have used it to start fires using my ferrocium rod. My butcher knife, by the way, starts a fire so good it is amazing. I bought this knife 43 years ago at a flea market for $2.00 and profiled the blade to look like a traditional hunting knife. I've used it as a hunting/survival/butcher knife for 43 years. Perhaps I should work on the blade so that it gives better sparks when I use it to start my outdoor fires.
BUT, this knife is rugged, attractive, comfortable in my hand, razor sharp and has a very beautiful sheath. The steel is 1075 and is very easy to sharpen in the field and will retain the sharp edge very, very well. My knife only cost $32.00 on E Bay and is a steal at this price.
NOT REALLY A BIG DEAL! THE KNIFE WILL STILL SPARK AND I CAN START A FIRE.
I recommend you buy one! I believe you will like it very much.
