Lift assist or strain yourself
I purchased this unit with the desire to reduce the load weight when lifting the gate. With the springs enclosed and assisting the lift I wish I had gotten this earlier. I had seen other trailers with these units and decided to get them to reduce the lift weight. I recently had hernia surgery and have no desire to do that again!! Reducing the lift weight is extremely important otherwise you may consider trading the trailer in for a tilt trailer or perhaps dropping a heavy ramp and use lightweight aluminum portable ramps. I chose a lift assist unit at a great price and I'm very happy.

Works like new!
I received this replacement quickly, got it installed easily, and now I'm able to start the weedeater. I'm glad to keep the weedeater up and running because it's a good brand and works hard everyday during lawn season. If I need a new starter it's much cheaper than buying a new weedeater.
