Great stuff
Portmeirion has a large following of both daily users and collectors. I had no idea their offerings were so large...or at least larger than the botanical (which is their most popular).

well written, repetitive at times, but isn't life that way?
I've read most of chronicles of this era. Lewis and Clark, Jermiah Johnson, Crow-Killer, Billie Hamilton, Brigham Young, 1819 Yellowstone Expedition, etc. Most Americans have little exposure, knowledge or connection to the western USA before the 1840's. The west contained mostly Indians--whose cultures had not yet been destroyed and very few white people. It was a paradise of sorts.
This book is written much like a journal. I found it refreshing and poignant.
