5 of 6 found this helpful I've read so many reviews. I borrowed a garmin from a friend. Went on about a 1000mi trip. It worked great. The only reason I bought the Magellan was because in a review that I read from another buyer, they said the Magellan map had more detail. It does. The detail in the Magellan about the surrounding area is much better. The trip we took was awesome. The garmin got us there no problem. I only bought the Magellan because of what was said abought the map detail. From what I have seen, it is night and day. The Magellan gives much more detail. Nice when you are in the middle of nothing. If there is a lake near, you get the name and parks around it. On the Garmin, you get nothing unless you touch the screen, then you might get the name of the lake. The voice seemed better on the Magellan and from the reviews I read, I didn't expect to be pleased, but was. Don't get me wrong, the Garmin got us where we wanted to go. The Magellan has too. Just like the map detail more. I'm not a gps geek. Just a user of a gps. Sorry if I've upset anyone. I think theY all do what they are built to do. It's just a matter of what you like. They are differnt. Do your research before buying one. Then they should all get five stars. This one is pretty nice. The only thing that I wish the Magellan could do is give the speed zone you are in. The Garmin can. They both get you there.

Nice for the price.
Sits low. Has a slight bevel over the action opening for a little extra finger room when loading. It went on a Savage Model 111. Was able to use Leupold low rings to mount a Bushnell 3-9x40 Legend scope.

Nice camera that does what its designed to do
1 of 1 found this helpful Bought the Optio wg-1 to replace our camera that met its demise at a water ski show in Minocqua, Wi when a skier sprayed the crowd. We have had it for a few months now and have very good luck with it. It's nice to not have to worry about everything you do with your camera. I have used it in the rain a few times and had no issues. We dont use the majority of features on this camera and Im sure if we took the time to learn them, it would perform even better. A little bigger than our last camera but I believe that you have put up with a little bulk to get the luxury of having electronics that can withstand what this thing can and still do what its supposed to. I have huge hands and actually like that its a little bigger, makes it easier to handle. Of course the buttons are still small but I dont mess with the settings very often so its not a problem. It serves its purpose for us, we wanted a camera that an average user could take along anywhere anytime and take good quality photos. The only thing I wish for, is that the screen could be larger. For me, the screen size is the only issue but we still love it and use it often. Sorry I cant comment on so many features this camera has but honestly, we just dont use them and never will.
