Wooden Hamster Habitat Hedgehog Cage for Guinea Pigs with Acrylic Windows Wood

Overall Great Habitat & The Rest of The Story
Overall, I’m happy with the purchase and so is my little bunny. I spent a nauseatingly long time searching, inc. reading reviews, resulting in much frustration, but finally settling on this one and, all things considered, made the right decision. Requirements: Plenty of living space, no wire bottom to hurt little feet, potential for adding stratified living space, plexiglass sides for pleasant viewing rather than horrible cage bars, escape-proof, waterproof, chew-proof, easy cleaning and access. All of the requirement were met with the following caveats: 1. Plenty of living space, no wire bottom to hurt little feet, and potential for adding stratified living space, plexiglass sides for pleasant viewing rather than horrible cage bars, all met without exception. 2. Escape-proof: Almost. Where the top meets the cage, there is an opening one would use to lift the top. If your peep is tiny, can ping-pong, or jump, this is a potential hazard. The little one could get its head stuck or even get out. I glued some fabric over the opening to prevent these hazards and can still easily open the top. Don’t think that this cannot happen, I have first-hand experience with such a hazard and my peep died, sparing horrible details here! 3. Waterproof: NO. The habitat is made of pressed board covered with a thin veneer that is definitely water resistant. Waterproof, it is NOT. Little peeps tend to toilet in the same areas, and urine will eventually settle in place and cause the veneer to rot. That will in turn ruin the particle board underneath, and you have a problem! I cut sheet plastic to fit the bottom to resolve this issue. 4. Chew-proof: Completely. Many habitats I reviewed had levels built in, or plastic bottoms, all of which were eventually destroyed. You can build out levels with this one, use your creativity, and select materials that the little peep can happily chew on without destroying the habitat, or chew through a bottom plastic tray and escape. 5. Easy cleaning and access: 100%. Installation was a nightmare. It was another one of those products manufactured somewhere “over there,” China maybe, where you get a box with a “bezillion” parts, instructions that are mind spinning and in microscopic font. I studied all the pieces and parts, reviewed how-to videos, like the one with this product listing, and still, things went wrong. IF you decide to use the double sticking tape, make sure you are 100% correct of the orientation of each panel. In hindsight, I wish I had not used the tape at all. The plastic panels did not align properly with the wood panels in places. Even slightly off, and it caused problems fitting panels together. There is no margin for error. The veneer chips VERY easily and if you try to force pieces to fit, like I did with the narrow strip along the top, you will have breakage. For the panel where I had to remove the sticky residue from the tape, I opted to not use tape again, and fitting the panels together was much easier. One person Can put this together, although two would make it easier, as recommended. One plus, the plastic rings used to secure the panels: the package had a few extra, Thank Goodness, as one broke!

    Beautiful Lamp
Was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful this lamp is in person. The pictures do not give justice to the detail on this lamp, particularly the 3D roses on the lamp shade.
