New Features

I really like this newer remote with volume and mute buttons. I haven't tried the voice control yet-maybe it would help, too.

Self-powered Unit

Just what I was looking for to operate my 12V propane furnace from an RV. The 12V powered furnace only looks for a contact closure to initiate its' heating cycle, and that's what this digital display thermostat does. It does not use power from the furnace to operate so the furnace voltage doesn't matter (although high (line) voltage would probably fry the unit) . Most "battery backup" units that I looked at were unclear as to whether they would operate on 12 volts, and one comment attributed to a Honeywell representative stated that their units don't work on 12V. Also, reviews from users who installed other units offered confusing installation instructions involving "C" wires, etc., so to be safe I ordered this unit because I knew it would work, being totally dependent on the alkaline(!) batteries included. The control setpoint only goes down to 45F, but it does control to within 1F degree as advertised. Screws and drywall anchors included for installation, and the display lights up briefly when the setpoint buttons are pressed. Totally happy.

A Switch in Time

We needed a lighted pathway from the meeting site to the parking lot that would shut off automatically. This switch does that with choices to 30 minutes. It can also be switched on continuously. Motion sensors were deemed to be overkill.
