LG Lotus--Stealth PDA phone, unique offering
Despite the popularity of flashy touch screen phones, I bucked the trend and went with the Lotus. I had to switch from Verizon to Sprint in order to get it, but so far network performance is just as good. 1) EXCELLENT QWERTY KEYPAD. I don't like the lack of feedback from a touch screen phone; but you've no choice, because that's the interface you're given (unless you do everything by voice command). On the other hand, the tactile sensation of the Lotus keypad is excellent, easy for rapid "double thumb" typing. 2) SMALL FORM FACTOR. The iPhone, Storm, and Omnia touch screen style phones are all quite large and weighty. They don't fit comfortably in your pocket, especially if you've got it in a case to avoid screen scratches. But the Lotus disappears in your pocket. Even in a shirt pocket, it is unobtrusive. When folded, the inner screen and keyboard are fully protected. Yet, when you open it up, the size is doubled and it is easy to hold. THIS is what cellular communications should be all about. When opened, it almost looks like a miniature laptop! :-) 3) SEMI-SMART PHONE. What does it take for a cellular phone to be called a Smart Phone? "There is no agreement in the industry about what a smartphone actually is and definitions have changed over time." The Lotus supports Java applications, can browse the web, download files, exchange e-mail (when connected, e-mail is pushed to the phone), and work as a GPS device. This certainly sounds smart to me. 4) PLAN VERSATILITY. With smart phones like the iPhone, Storm, and Omnia, you MUST have a data plan. With the Lotus, you can choose whether or not you want a data plan. Plus, on Sprint, you can do this change mid-stream on your contract without incurring costs or contract change penalties (the countdown to expiration remains unchanged). I find this an attractive advantage over the competition. 5) SCREEN RESOLUTION. The inner screen of the Lotus is 2.5" diagonal. It is a beautiful wide screen that looks like one you'd see on a quality digital camera. The resolution is SUPERB. Pictures appear razor sharp and in full accurate color. Even the external screen looks great, and you can choose not only a few different clock layouts but a different wallpaper from the internal screen. 6) MENU SYSTEM. The default "Carousel" style menu system is actually very nice. It is customizable and provides very easy access to popular functions of the phone. You can also switch it to the LG default menu, with help from the Sprint tech reps (unless you know your MSL code). 7) NO THEFT MAGNET. Not only is the phone small and easy to hide, it's inconspicuous unlike the flashy iPhone. 8) MUSIC PLAYBACK. Excellent sound. You really can't beat it for the size. 9) GPS SOFTWARE. I was about to buy a Garmin Nuvi 255w. But now, I don't have to. The Sprint GPS Navigator is excellent! It really works. Plus, it's full featured with horizon view and turn-by-turn audible directions with street names. 10) DECENT CAMERA. Yes, it's only 2.0mp, but it functions like a 3.0mp. Very decent quality. NEGATIVES: Battery life is a little disappointing. But unlike the iPhone, you can keep a spare battery handy! Also, no backup software is available yet. CONCLUSION: I really like this phone and I'm glad I made the switch. You really have to try it first hand to get an idea of just how great it is. Stop by your Sprint store today!

Andersen Split Arm Operator (Left Hand) in Stone Color (1982-1995) - 1361... New
    Sep 18, 2016
The only replacement Anderson Window Operator you can count on
Very well made. Solid. All screws included, plus the attach plate in case you need it. Installs easily. Far better buying from an eBay seller than paying full retail somewhere else.

Time honored representation of CGI effects, great music
I managed to see this animation around the time when it first came out, back in 1994, and was blown away. I managed to get a copy on VHS. The quality was excellent, but after getting away from VHS tape watching I felt it was time to hunt down the DVD for this video. I'm glad I did. This Gate to the Mind's Eye is a classic and part of computer animation history. I have never witnessed such a "flowing" of visual images done tastefully, capturing the human spirit, along with the music by Thomas Dolby that matches it. Particularly pleasing, pleasurable and extremely well done. One segment is superior to all others -- and that is the one to the song "In a Corner of Your Mind's Eye". It is unbelievable! A masterpiece of 3D animation that makes me wish they had a 3D computer animation MTV station. The song is so good, I ripped it to MP3 and have it in my audio collection. The way you are brought back through time making you feel as if you're experiencing ancient rooms of the Egyptians, Mayans, then looking into a city of few hundreds of years ago, and then bringing you into the future with "Quantum Mechanic" shows they are trying to encapsulate experiences throughout human history and into the future. This DVD is so well done that you'll be amazed to think this was produced prior to 1994. All of the graphic segments in the video are done to accompanied music. I was in awe of the mastery of the creativity behind these creations. It is the human spirit free to express itself in a flowing, visual form with music, never before as in this kind of medium. Watch this DVD and see the human spirit soar with a sense of freedom, spontaneity and creativity you have rarely witnessed before. Until now humanity has only had static art forms and images, except for movies, -- only music could match the "flowing" of creativity and lift the human spirit to new heights. This kind of computer animation has changed that. It is the merging of music and visual imagery with intelligence that is truly unique and awe inspiring. Thanks to MIRAMAR and its artists and musicians for this wonderful experience into virtual reality!
