Total cheap and garbage glass, breaks instantly on slightest drop!
1 of 7 found this helpful These mirrors are horrible. I just bought my second one and it dropped during assembly, and the glass instantly shattered, on a non-concrete floor no less. Sadly, this was the second one of these I bought to replace the first one I bought because the glass also shattered in that one from a simple drop.
These mirrors are made of super cheap glass and break from the slightest drop impact. Why would you want such cheap glass on something like a bicycle that is specifically made to be dropped, banged around, etc...

The setback is not a true setback, and not independent from seat pivot which you lose setback on.
2 of 2 found this helpful I bought this for a Brooks saddle to compensate for the 25mm that brooks rails are known to be short for. Folks suggested this seat post and it wasn't a good suggestion! The setback is pointless if it is going to be determined on your seat pivot rather than being able to truly use the full setback of this post. Depending on how far back or forward you want your seat determines exactly where you sit on this post. They are not two independent variables that can be adjusted but one and the same. So if you want to take advantage of putting the seat in the furthest setback position, you have the seated tilted up into your nuts. If you don't want the seat so far back, then you have to deal with sliding forward on the seat because the pivot of the seat determines where the setback is because they are not two independent variables that can be adjusted independently from each other.
This is a terrible advice to use with Brooks Saddles. Then on top of things, you pretty much can NOT return one of these seat posts once it's been used in "any" capacity, it's yours to keep now, now if's, and's, or but's. So now I am stuck with an expensive seat post that I have no real use for, will have to probably by a Thompson seat post now to make up for the error of dealing with this company, and ultimately it cost me more money to find out what I do "not" need just to "try" this terrible product and find a fix for my needs. Even reselling the post, I would need to be honest with someone so they know ahead of time so they don't get stuck also. What a total lose lose situation.
Reviews and comments on this seat don't mention any of this ahead of time, and it surprises me people weren't complaining about this more. But like everything else with Amazon reviews, can't rely on them for really anything because I did my homework on this seat post prior, and none of this information comes up until you are stuck with something you don't need at the cost of a higher end seat post. So this information is for people who are educated consumer shoppers and have the ability to discern properly and use critical thinking in this situation. Stupid people will fall for image and pretty things. Educated consumers could care less about that and want practical and how to utilize my money properly for a solid product, which this is not nor is the manufacturer with the "wipe my hands clean" approach on their own product. Don't fall for the generic reviews across the board with no comments.
Then the company doesn't want to deal with me or have anything to do with me because I didn't buy it directly from them, they tell me to go back to seller, but seller won't refund money either. Velo is terrible to deal with and I won't buy any more of their products just based on getting the cold shoulder from them and the entire "wipe my hands clean of it" attitude about their own product. The reviews up so people don't find out the hard way like I did if they research the reviews like I did ahead of time also. Now they know they should not buy this seat with Brooks saddles also, which is why I assume a lot of folks are looking for them to make up for the 25mm the Brooks saddles are known to be short on their rails.
I would look at a Thompson or another manufacturer to be honest. Don't waste your money on something you can only get stuck with if it doesn't work for your needs. Companies like that should not be in business at all!
