Don't need a smart tv
2 of 2 found this helpful This device works really well for $30. I can't see getting a smart tv or some of the overpriced set top devices out there over the Chromecast. Don't have a PS/4 on the other tv so this device fits that bill. Since this Chromecast can play DLNA all I need now is an hdhomerun extend and a good HD antenna to cut the cable cord. I like using my phone to change channels as it's one less device to keep track of.
