Heavy duty steel takes .22 plinking to .338 Win Mag.
I have used this steel in gongs for a few years now. The steel holds up to seriously abuse. From as close as 7-8 yards with a .357 mag to 300 yards or more with a .338 win mag. If you shoot up close, make sure to shoot so the gong is not perfectly perpendicular to your position. Lead or steel or copper shrapnel will fly back toward you. Wear safety glass and ear protection. My original gong is started to indent a little with the heavier calibers, but it's been taken three years of constant shelling. .22, 380, 9mm, 40 cal, 45acp, .357, 44 mag, 243, 556 Nato, 32 spl, 30-06, 7mm, 300 win mag, .338 win mag,
So far, not much rusting, even out in the elements all this time. It's great because you can hear when you hit it!
