Great Performance of a Masterwork
Great performance from soloists, chorus, orchestra and conductor. Good sound quality.

A wonderful explosive recording.
You know I don't think of Mehta as one of the great conductors - but boy do I love his recordings. He's not cerebral like Masur or precise like Maazel or flamboyant like Bernstein - but the orchestras, in this case, the Vienna Philharmonic play wonderfully for him. This is truly an exciting performance with wonderful singing by the chorus and soloists.
