Just a Great Value!
Okay, it's my first GPS and I have no real basis for comparison. Having said that, I did my research on line before buying and read how much people love Garmin's nuvis for their ease of use and value ... and I can see why. Drop-dead simple to operate and the maps are great. I opted for the 265wt (w=widescreen, t=includes free traffic) over the 255's which were on sale around Christmas because of the free lifetime traffic (ads are not intrusive at all) and the bluetooth connectivity (pairs just fine with my Blackberry 8330 though I have to have the phone initiate the connection -- doesn't just "happen" because they're both on. Note: The traffic capability is in the power cord, not the GPS unit itself. You may see the model designated as 265w/265wt. The designation on the unit itself is 265w. I bought one unit new for my wife for Christmas and a week later bought a second refurbished unit on eBay for me. Can't tell the difference other than the white box vs. the retail. Both work great and the refurb unit looked brand new and came will all the same accessories and with a 3-year extended warranty from the reseller. I had to email Garmin to get the refurb unit "unregistered" from the previous owner so I could register it -- no hassle at all -- just had to email invoice as proof of purchase and Garmin responded the same day. You're also entitled to one free map update within 60 days of registering so that was a second email to Garmin but again, no hassle at all. As for directions, like the people that ended up in the cow path, in "fastest route" mode, it did lead me over some unpaved roads on a recent journey which was a bit scary even though it's was a somewhat familar area since I have a sedan and not a 4-wheeler but it was fine -- estimated time of arrival was right on. The traffic reporting in my area so far is a bit spotty and ads are hardly noticeable as I said. So far I've traveled my usual commute route and so it's usually not telling me anything I don't know about problem spots. It once reported a 5 minute delay ahead on route when there was none -- though as I proceeded through the "delay area" it counted down the delay as I traveled and then realized ... "hey there's no delay" :-) So if you're looking for your first GPS and want free traffic and bluetooth, this is a great unit. If you don't need a widescreen, get the 265 and if you don't need bluetooth or traffic, pick up the almost identical 255w (the w is for widescreen). Look to the higher series if you're willing to pay for better traffic or lane navigation. And remember to keep your eyes on the road -- a GPS can be yet another distraction and you can travel a long way in just a couple of seconds at 65 mph!

Inexpensive Bluetooth Solution - Works with iPad
I have a non-Apple Bluetooth keyboard case paired with my iPad Pro 9.5" and was looking for an inexpensive Bluetooth mouse that didn't require a dongle so I could take advantage of the added support for it in iOS. Took a chance on this unit and am very pleased with it. I had purchased one and couldn't get it to pair following the instructions. [After some research, I found that you also have to use the Accessibility feature in iOS to access the mouse function.] Also I received a second unit and the instructions were slightly different even thought the mouse hardware was otherwise identical. I was eventually able to get it to work very well -- once paired, it stays paired. The overall design fits comfortably in my hand. I don't have any real use for the added side thumb buttons with the iPad but they could be handy paired with a Windows PC

Quality Replacement for Somma Queen
Two of my original Somma queen tubes (now 25 years old) spring pinhole leaks last week. These replacement tubes are good quality vinyl. The gauge is a bit thinner and more "rubbery" than the original Somma clear tubes but similar to another replacement purchased at least several years that has had no issues. I expect the same service from these. They have fill marker lines for soft, normal and firm support.
