Rare Hitchcock
A must for Hitchcock aficionados. A unique exercise in spare docudrama. Good quality transfer. Robert Burks black and white cinematography is bleak and perfect.

Brilliant an beautiful.
0 of 1 found this helpful I use this mic primarily for recording voices: it handles full throttle blues, chamber chorale, small-ensemble opera and spoken word. Like any mic, it has its own color palette of sound: I find its detail slight warmth really attractive. And there are many mics around -- AKG 214/414 come to mind -- that are a joy to work with. And I have the former. However, to date, there isn't a performer I have worked with who isn't even modestly impressed with how the Bluebird looks. For performers who are not spectrum audio nerds, and who are not well-acquainted with audio capture in performance, I have witnessed active competition to record on the 'beautiful' mic.
And I always appreciate mic manufacturers who design and include a protective box, rather than just pouch. (I am also a digital camera op, and would never toss a lens into an unpadded device box for transport). When you're hucking mics to a session, or mushing them in at the last minute, its nice to know there's just one more protective envelope around the only device that ultimately stands between a recording technician and recording medium, a performing artist and a great recording.

Who sez old films aren't any good?
Really one of Hitchcock's best. It's an engaging story with nuanced performances from both Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman, but, when you look at it more closely, its deeper subcurrents become apparent. And it contains one of the naughtiest kissing sequences in American cinema: only Hitchcock could subvert the Hay's Office film morality codes while observing them to the letter.
