Poor operation
I bought one of these units not knowing the design had changed. The one i got was designed with nylon gears, which might have been ok if the motor shaft was splined. It wasn’t so the gear spawn on the shaft and didn’t move the rest of the gears and turntable. After several attempts of fixing it, I gave up and bought another one with metal pullies and rubber band. It works fine.

Poorly designed
This engine is a far cry from the other offerings from MRC. Even though this engine has four wheel power pickup, I had to work on the wipers before it picked up power. It has one axel that is powered, so don’t expect to move more than one car at a time. The paint and decals are not up to MRC’s usual standards either. The lack of details, such as hand rails, horns, exhaust all take the model cheap looking. If there is anything good about this model, it is the nice sounds. Overall if you are wanting a project this model is it.

Excellent Product
This is the fourth set of these utility poles that I have used on my layout. They are high quality and realistic. They come with everything you need included. Two size transformers, poles and several sizes of cross-arms and insulators. Paint them, install them, set back and enjoy them.
