Liked it but not as much as his other books
I am a fan of Jon Katz. I have all his books and love to read them and pass them around to friends and family. So, I rushed out and bought Izzy & Lenore. However,I did not like the last half of the book as much as the first half. Even though he said that no animals die in this book, he failed to mention that many people die in this book. I think hospice is a wonderful thing and those who work in it are extraordinary people, but reading about it throughout half of the book tended to be too repetitive and frankly depressing. One or two stories of hospice patients would have been more than enough. I expected more information about the dogs and animals at Bedlam Farm. I'm still a lover of Jon Katz books and will continue to buy them.I just hope the next one is more about his life on the farm than Hospice.

the dogs of bedlam farm
What a wonderful, relaxing, informative book to read. I didn't want to finish it because I wanted it to last longer. I learned so much about hardships on a farm and how animals ease the discomfort of so many human ailments. It makes me wonder if animals aren't just angels in furry coats. Love you Jon Katz. Thanks
