Brother 1634D 3 or 4 Thread Capability Serger

It's ok .... sews nice

First things first. The Mechanics of the Machine may be ok. The Plastic Parts are very cheap. And there are a few of them. The first thing that I noticed when I was unpacking the Machine was the Scrap Catcher. It seamed cheap to me. I also noticed that parts that are Metal on my other Machines are Plastic on this one. Even the Thread Stand is Plastic. Some Machines come prethreaded with different Colors of Thread so that the Path is easier to follow. The different Colors also help you familiarize yourself with the different threads and which one is which. And sometimes the path is Colored to match the Adjustments. This Machine comes with all White Thread installed. Black ( anything but White )would be great. The Machine is White. It was also a little bit more Expensive than my other Machines. That are more capable 2 Thread as well as 3/4. However for a Serger it's still not that expensive and its nice enough. Now for some good stuff. The Controls are plainly marked and conveniently located. It uses a standard Sewing Machine Needle. That's probably the most important thing. Overall it's, but it's not a Singer. OH and make sure that you attach the new Thread to the old and pull it through. It will save you lots of Time and Effort. Maybe even keep you from getting a Headache.

Doesn't work

It doesn't run therefore it doesn't work. I tried Batteries and the AC adapter. I cannot recommend this product. I was required to give it one star to submit a review. One star is being generous for such a cheaply made product.

I expected better quality

I've a big complaint. It's GLUED together. I got out the Magnifier to make sure. I couldn't find a single stitch. I sewed the Handle and the Clip with Nylon Thread. Otherwise it's very nicely finished. Good looking Functional Probably strong Unfortunately the manufacturer cut a corner that could put your best friend in danger. I prefer a better quality product. Sassyann549 makes great stuff better quality better price. Now that I've modified this lead it will be OK.
