lightweight and durable Allosaurus calf replica skull

Excellent quality! Aside from a bit of flashing (easily removed), the overall rendering was quite good, and the material used for the cast is quite durable. However, I would still not recommend dropping it, since the teeth are still fragile. Anyway, for armchair/first-time fossil collectors, this is a must-have for something extra-distinctive for your collection. Well-done!

In Search of Noah's Ark

I am a Christian and, oddly as it may seem, an ardent Evolutionist as well. I have been interested in the Noah's Ark phenomenon for most of my life, and am currently doing research on the subject. Sadly, almost all of the research material I have acquired has been very preachy and pontificating, with very little objective research involved. This program, along with its companion book, has proven to be one of the very few thoroughly objective, rational, non-proselytizing items of information I have found. Despite its questionable rating when it was first distributed, I enjoyed it immensely when I was a child, and I still do today. "In Search of Noah's Ark" provides a welcome source of objectivity and real scientific research on a very controversial subject without resorting to the pontification and mysticism so prevalent in other materials about this subject. One of the major points however, namely the Fernand Navarra encounter, has been proven to be a hoax. Since that revelation occurred years after this film was made, the comments made on the affair are inevitably rather dated. Nonetheless, there has been sufficient argument made on the presence of SOMETHING on Mt. Ararat to render a concrete source for the sightings/photographs/encounters completely feasible, even if they are not the result of encounters with a gigantic, ancient ship. Another flaw was the lackluster treatment of the Durupinar Object which, I personally believe, is the TRUE source of the legend of Noah's Ark. Even though the object is totally natural in origin, its shape is compelling enough to raise the exciting possibility that perhaps, just perhaps, some ancient Jews/Muslims/Christians had happened through en route to Asia along the various Silk Road caravan routes, and chanced upon a sighting of this object. This lends credence/validity to the account in the Bible which states that the Ark came to rest "In the Mountains of Ararat," (MountainS, plural) as well as the account in the Q'ran, which states the Ark came to rest on the slopes of Mt. Judi, which is a low mountain just two miles away, and easily visible from, the Durupinar site. At any rate, despite this shortcoming, the program is still a rich source of Ark lore and very tantalizing imagery.

A terrible, excellent story

This program tells a very bleak, stark (and at times wrenching) story of the nuclear disaster which befell the Soviet Union in April, 1986. Despite certain fictional elements inserted for brevity, the story accurately and realistically depicts the overall circumstances before, during and after the Chernobyl explosion, from the monstrous accumulation of human error which was the cause, to the tragic, heroic stories of the valiant individuals who fought the disaster only to fall victim to its effects. This is not a pleasant, "feel-good" adventure, but it's not meant to be.
