LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS-STAY AWAY FROM THIS MACHINE!
This product, Miele countertop CM 5300, is a piece of junk for the amount of money we paid for it. First, it is super long and bulky--that's on me for not understanding that when I compared the measurements to our countertop. Next, it is SO loud that it could wake up the whole house, except we live in a larger home, so we can even get past that. So far, it has been nothing but troublesome and anything other than simple or automatic. This machine requires maintenance every day. When I get up at the crack of dawn, I don't feel like cleaning out the coffee and the drip pan-not when it's an everyday thing, ugh! So far, it has NOT produced a decent sized cup of coffee even though that is the option we are selecting, and we have to push it again after the first little bit to produce more because each time we select the actual regular coffee option, it produces what appears to be an espresso size. And probably one of the WORST features is the water reservoir, like for a kid's play coffee machine--it is RIDICULOUSLY small and has to be filled every day, and it's only my hubby and me. Maybe this is how all professional machines are, as I am unsure since this is our first expensive and professional coffee machine we've ever owned. I wish I had kept our Keurig now even though it was a pain to make each cup of coffee (instead of icky pods), but I would've held out longer before buying a professional machine. The problem is with coffee machines, you either pay $300-400+ for a non-auto coffee machine and all are reported with issues, and then there is middle of the road professional, which is why we chose Miele at just over $600, or the best of the best starting around at least $2,500-most likely furbished-to $3-5k+ new. All the reviews for all the products I read had both pros and cons. There is no perfect coffee machine design yet, and if there is, we can't afford it. Miele boasts being able to produce 2 cups of coffee at once, including making a pot (although not a true pot, much smaller and we had to purchase separately for over $100), and other features like a coffee cup warmer but I can't figure this machine out and my hubby is going to call customer service, which I read mixed reviews on their customer service. All machines have mixed reviews, even the super new and expensive Jura that we wanted but could not afford. The ONLY positive thing I can say about this Miele coffee machine is the coffee it produces is delicious! Then again, this is our first professional machine, so who knows if we tried something else if we would find this isn't so good or not. Now that we are out our money, over $600, we will just have to eat and live with it, otherwise I feel like I just literally flushed that money down the toilet. We will deal with this machine but now know better what to look for, and I suppose I should've listened to the reviewers for this particular machine. STAY AWAY FROM MIELE COUNTERTOP CM 5300=COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY FOR SUCH AN EXPENSIVE MACHINE.
