Nice must-have tool for clay sculpting.

Nice wooden shaft with excellent wires. Nice and smooth. Easy to handle. Works as expected. No detailed clay sculpture can be done without the help of this little cutting tool. Well...maybe not as easy without it.

Great for jewelry - As a compass, you'll be lost!

I bought two of these, because they caught my eye and I do a bit of jewelry designing. I found that they look wonderful, striking in appearance even. The BIG concern I have with these is that they are NOT accurate compasses. The ones I received all pointed to a different location than magnetic north. One is off by an amazing 60 degrees and the other by about 20 degrees. So, great for looks, but do not rely on these for hiking or survival.

Great Beginner's Tools

The quality of set of tools actually took me by surprise - decent quality! I did not expect tools that I could very well be using years from now. The wood was not finished as in the picture, but unfinished. That was the only thing I found different from the listing photo, but I would rather finish the wood myself and know just what the finish consists of. I would recommend a dark stain and a sealer. The wood is smooth with no splinters or rough edges. All of the metal had a fair finish and no sharp edges - not the fine polishing of pro tools, but ok. Definitely not professional quality, but good enough for the beginning sculptor.
