Perfect Motorola for Ham Radio
1 of 1 found this helpful While larger than most amateur radios, this radio is actually noticeably lighter than, say the Astro Saber P25 radio. This radio gets a great signal and will last for days on the standard 2600 mAh battery (not included). The Front Panel programming is very straight forward, and much better than on, say a Baofeng radio. P25 is cool and will let you get in on digital nets, much like the other digital modes. (Not to mention that P25 has better audio quality than DMR.)

Simple Dell pass-through adapter
This adapter is exactly what you want to connect an mSATA drive to an older laptop with a regular SATA port. It is pass-through, not converting any power or data signals. My Dell Latitude E6430 read my Samsung Evo mSATA SSD as a native SATA 3.1 device.
Be aware, that mSATA drives do require that rarely used 3.3V power in the SATA specifications, so if an external SATA adapter does not seem to be working with it, it may be that the adapter is only providing 5V and not 3.3V.

Makes all the difference working with older radios
This item worked perfectly to allow me to program an older Motorola Astro Saber that wouldn't work with the straight serial cable. Will probably use it for other radios as well now that I have it!
