half assed repair select items manual
As suspected it was too generic and didn't have answers that I needed in regards to most everything that you would actually need to know about if you own the vehicle and it had typical Ford problems.as an example it didn't even cover the issue of the heater hose that goes between the intake and the engine block and how to deal with replacing that item. Manual is way too generic and mostly useless for anything except the most generic types of repairs on any vehicle you might own. I grant you the Ford 2003 through 2011 perhaps made writing a repair manual more difficult due to peculiar engineering that doesn't relate to typical repair work but authors I believe got lazy and decided not to cover issues that were decidedly real time in the real world that real owners would have to Beal with.

fits well after after ahered to housing to hold in place.
Seems to require a break n period before giving accurate reading. Tractor needed to overheat once before the thermostat would activate and hold a 160 degree temp for the engine. Not sure if this is a inherent trait, typical behavior or signs of a defective thermostat. Gauge is 3 months old so I know it is working properly, fluids were all good and fresh, no air bubbles. water pump is reasonably new and working tractor was not under load and recently tuned and timing not advanced...so I am safe in saying that the thermostat was the cause and am backed up by 40 years of experience with mechanical thermostats. Due to design and manufacture they will sometimes drag against their housings when attempting to open and have to heat to a higher temperature in order to exert enough spring tension to overcome the resistance applied by the housing containing the valve. Depending on how the thermostat is designed some have to literally scrape a pathway into the housing in order to "seat" themselves into a dedicated pathway for opening and closing. Time will tell with this one. The last 3 times out it has become more consistent at reaching the 160 degree mark.
