No instructions, some parts don't work

So far, I cannot get the LED light strips to work.
Background colors are made of slippery, stiff vinyl or plastic that does not stay in place inside the cube - it was rolled up tightly and will not stay unrolled.
I like the cube itself, but now I have to go out and purchase fabric to use as a background instead of the slippery vinyl.
Hopefully I can figure out how to get the LED lights to work.
INSTRUCTIONS REALLY WOULD HAVE BEEN HELPFUL!
