Typical good-quality Dakine product
I purchased these Dakine glove liners to replace some lost ones that went with my Dakine snowboarding gloves. The material is very different (these have a polyester-like feel in contrast to the plush material of the originals), but they're every bit as warm and arguably more comfortable. You can use a smartphone just fine without taking them off -- except for the fingerprint scanner, of course. I don't see any reason why these wouldn't be compatible with all gloves and mittens.
It would have been nice for Dakine to include the small strips of velcro on the edges of the cuffs, to match up with the corresponding strips on the insides of most of their gloves, though. That would have made these perfect for me.

Provides functionality and peace of mind
This hitch step is good-looking and sturdy. It's not overly large (which was a requirement for me), but yet you can get both feet on it if needed. It has an anti-slip surface even when wet, and it has a nice finish that doesn't look like it's going to develop rust anytime soon. I'm using a locking, anti-rattle hitch pin to secure it, which I highly recommend. My favorite thing about this product is the tendency for other drivers to stay a little further back behind my rear bumper, and I bet it would mitigate some damage to my vehicle in the event of a low-speed collision. It's an easy and affordable upgrade to your truck or SUV.

Happy with the performance but not the design
It seems to do what it claims -- which is protect your tailbone and hips when you fall. I used these snowboarding and there were several instances I was glad I was wearing them. My beef is with the care of the product, however.
The tag says not to machine wash, and I'm assuming it's because the foam pads would disintegrate in the washer. One option is to remove the pads from the shorts (easy enough) and then machine wash them (they're basically lycra/spandex). This is what I did. I was not prepared for the 1-hour exercise in frustration putting the pads back in. Next time -- if there is a next time -- I'll try gently washing by hand with the pads still in. Oh, and yes, you'll definitely want to wash them after each use.
So to sum up, this product functions well but may not be worth the trouble.
