I have a 1955 Harry Ferguson TO-35 tractor with Continental Z-134 gas engine and Delco distributor. The tractor has been properly converted to 12v negative ground with the correct coil. It had the characteristic sputter at idle typical of low compression engines with points ignition and needed the points and condenser replaced every other year. When I started it up this year I found the points had burned a hole through the contacts and the plugs were totally black.
I could have just put more points in it and look forward to doing it again but I decided I was done with that setup for good. I found that other Ferguson enthusiasts had good reports about the Pertronix Ignitor electronic ignition. It costs the same as what I would be spending on the next few tune ups so I went ahead and ordered it.
Installation is super easy. If you can read instructions and operate a screwdriver and wire crimper you can install this part. The Ignitor mounts right up in place of the points, no modifications needed. Only thing to watch out for is that the magnetic pickup for the distributor shaft is a tight fit, as it should be. Lightly polishing the shaft with some emery cloth will help.
When I started the tractor for the first time I could tell an IMMEDIATE difference. Requires much less cranking and choke to start and the idle is much smoother. I notice I am also not throttling up as much when working. Another thing I like is that you can use resistor plug wires instead of copper core. Resistor wires don't corrode as badly as copper and are much easier to find. The Ignitor is made in the USA and Pertronix tech support answers questions within 24 hours. I would recommend this product to anyone!!
LEE 2 Cavity Bullet Mold 358-148-WC 148 Grain 38 Special 357 Magnum 90312

Great mold for the price!
I purchased this mold to make wadcutters for my S&W and Ruger .38 Special revolvers. Using range scrap lead they drop at a bit more than .358 and around 148.5 grains. I size them to .357 with a Lyman 450. You really don't need lube in all three grooves unless your barrel is over 4" long or you're shooting strong loads. I like the fact that there is an actual crimp groove in this bullet, this makes for a more consistent OAL and prevents the bullet from setting back into the case which can increase pressure. These bullets have superb accuracy and I even use them as a carry load for my little S&W 637. I have nerve problems and cannot shoot handguns with much recoil. A wadcutter bullet offers very good penetration and target damage in spite of it's low velocity and mild shooting characteristics.
I have been using Lee molds for a long time. I find that they are a great value and make really good bullets but you will have to do a bit of work on them. When I get a new mold I always wash it thoroughly with detergent and hot water to get any oil or dirt out of it. Then, I heat it up and cast as normal. Lee molds like to run hot, I find this one does not like to fill out all the way unless the heat setting on my Lyman pot is at the 8 setting or higher.
Usually, bullets will stick in the cavities of a new Lee mold. Blackening the cavities with a match flame helps, however it has to be repeated. Most molds respond well to polishing with scouring powder or other gentle abrasives. Basically, you use a raw bullet as a slug to polish the cavities with the abrasive. This process is called "Leementing" and is described in detail on the castboolits forum. It wouldn't take much more effort for Lee to do a better job polishing the cavities, I would gladly pay extra for the mold to be ready to go out of the box. I don't think that is going to change so we will have to continue doing a little extra work on these molds. The good news is that once they are polished and broken in well Lee molds are a pleasure to use and make piles of good bullets fast.
GLOCK - ALL Models - Factory OEM Steel Front Sight w/ Screw 42 43

Best front sight for Glock
I use this sight exclusively on my Glock 19, 26, and 42. It is rugged, reasonably priced, and the bright white dot gives a great sight picture even in dim light. This front sight plus the steel rear gives a very clean sight sight picture and made an instant improvement in my shooting. See my other review about the Glock steel rear sight. My only gripe is that these should be standard instead of the junky plastic sights.
