Great films, worth watching. English translation is nice.
Although Death & Rebirth doesn't have much in the way of new content, it is easily the best way to "catch up", as it were, and it's a visual treat regardless. The End of Evangelion needs no introduction.
The slipcase is nice and sturdy, and it has a neat shimmer effect. The DVDs themselves are exactly the same as the individually-sold films, down to the packaging--the Death and Rebirth DVD says "also look for the End of Evangelion film!", for example.
The real draw to these--other than owning them physically in the first place--is the original English dub, which is worth seeing just because of the iconic cast, many of which reprise their roles in the currently-running film series. It has a liturgy of problems--acting is generally not up to snuff but is totally passable, but there are still specific moments that are done poorly. Furthermore, although the script is largely a great translation both in terms of tone & meaning, there are certain points that feel like the liberty taken was too far. However, the specific moments shouldn't discourage anyone from checking out this version--if you don't mind the dated acting quality, it's overall great for the time it came out!

Great read
Hana to Yume is a fun magazine. This issue has a cool extra chapter of Fruits Basket included!
