Runs quiet, makes nice chips.
I've used it on a 6061 T6511 Aluminium flat bar. I've been using a bench top LMS MiniMill, and with the recommended ZCC inserts the result was a mirror like surface. This was at 1000rpm, 17ipm, and taking a 0.010" deep cut. I am very pleased with the results.

Sharp! (but AF not very fast)
1 of 2 found this helpful This is my landscape lens that I could even use for some portraits. It's fast enough for me. For 35mm I also considered buying a Nikkor f/1.4 but decided against it because its extremely shallow DOF when open wide. If the focus is just a tiny touch off the picture will not look sharp. And I would have to pay more for the feature that I didn't need.
I use the lens on my D750 and can see that it's sharp even far into the corners. One caveat to keep in mind when checking the sharpness: the AF is not really fast, so if you don't give it enough time to settle the focus might be off, either as a front focus or a backfocus depending on whether you're focusing away or towards you as you're taking the picture. So, don't rush!
Also, I suggest that you do the AF calibration of the lens with your camera. In my case, I didn't need any correction for the combination of my camera and my particular lens (pure luck, I suppose).

Works great!
It works great. Used it on a little Sherline lathe on a stainless steel stock without any problem
