Whitey Bulger was evil all right, and alas, he found people everywhere he went, even in the FBI, who were enthralled by him and compromised themselves
Excellent book. Painstakingly researched and very well-written. A thorough examination of a terrifying psychopath, and the strange hold he had over the minds and imaginations of many people in Boston.

Truly accurate.
1 of 1 found this helpful So far, the most compelling book I have ever read on psychopaths. Dr. Hare, the world's leading expert on psychopathy, is so literate, and so attuned to his patients, that the book reads like fiction. It's so fascinating I could not put it down. He really describes what they're like, and the kind of things they say, the way they think, and the crazy-ass things they do. He conveys like no other person I've ever read, the eerie, "otherworldly" aura they can emit, the sense that they can give of being not quite human, having an aura of being truly different. But although he writes about the appalling way they treat people and animals, and all the crimes they commit, he seems to care about them so much, and their many victims, and to be truly committed to finding some kind of solution to the problem they present to society.

Speaks to a shameful chapter of our nation's history--which is not yet over; the ending of this scandal has not yet been written.
1 of 2 found this helpful In a very dangerous time for our country, in which the FBI, the DOJ, and the State Department have been weaponized to influence the outcome of presidential elections, and which politicians in the House of Representatives are conducting an unlawful and unconstitutional impeachment process, Gregg Jarrett is a brave voice speaking out in defense of the innocent, and calling out the guilty--in these days and in Washington, a courageous thing to do. SOMEONE needs to speak out and defend the innocent, and call the malevolent and lawless to task--and he's doing it. God bless him.
