Plodding plot
Book came in good shape and quickly. But it was about the strangest (pun intended) story line and the most plodding plot I have ever read. 1000 pages of detail was way too much.

Delightful
A delightful story if you care about the English working woman’s lifestyle of the 1930s. The epistolary style was very well done. But this is the opinion of two English Literature majors in their seventies, so perhaps we are biased. We applaud the publishers for resurrecting this forgotten little gem.
