Priced just right and light weight with exceptional features.
The braking system is an SVS infinity braking system. Once you open side plate and set up the 4 brake pads like you want and set up side dial your set to go. Casting distance was adequate for the type of fishing I do. One thing I really love about the SLX XT is the smoothness of casting and the retrieve. When you cast and retrieve a lure with this reel, it has a buttery smooth yet rock solid feel. It’s as if absolutely zero force is wasted.

These are workhorse reels
1 of 1 found this helpful It's body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminates body flexing. The result transforms the actions directly into cranking power with efficient strength. The reel never requires maintenance just an occasionally drop of oil in the worm gear and spool axle. .A little harder to dial in than other models, but once done is absolutely amazing. The casting distance is insane, this is my furthest casting reel, then I replaced the bearings... casts even further now. I highly recommend this reel for the money and performance! This is another outstanding reel. It cast great, smooth drag, smooth retrieving and casting, great breaking system, and the thumbar is great I don't think it feels cheap yea it is different than previous models..
