Hanna-Barbera Classic Collection: Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space! -...
    Jan 05, 2016
    Good Nostalgia Viewing
I loved watching this cartoon as a young child in the 70s (dating myself) but I was surprised Hanna-Barbera (and Warner Brothers) released this compilation without remastering them first. Did they lose the masters? The episodes look like they may have been pulled from VHS tapes which surprised me as a product from a fortune 500 corporation. Either way, it's still watchable and to see how bad 70s animation/story writing was back then. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE Josie and the gang (especially Melody who was/is my childhood crush.) I bought this so I could share them with my kids. They may have made these on a tight budget and all, but they still have great moral values and don't have all the snarky attitude of today's cartoons (with the exception of Alexandra... boy, why didn't they just leave her on a planet, heh.)

    Good is GREAT
I love this band and it is still one of the best bands I've ever seen live (in Columbus Ohio in 1999 with 16 Horsepower.) This CD is a good Morphine album but if you are new to Morphine, I recommend you start with "Yes" or "Cure for Pain." Those cds are the best Morphine albums ever! Just awesome music! Buy them and enjoy!

Retrospective is an excellent disc set!
This is THE BEST representation of the Red House Painters work. I have listened to RHP since 1991 (when I first heard them on National Public Radio in a music review.) Most of their best work (which was their first three albums, in my opinion) are featured on this two disc collection. I own all the RHP cds anyhow but I had to buy Retrospective because of disc two. Disc two contains incredible rare EARLY RHP stuff that is just beautiful to hear! If you are just starting to listen to RHP, then this disc set is the BEST way to go. The lead singer, Mark Kozelek, now does solo albums and has a new band called Sun Kil Moon but nothing will ever top his early RHP days as far as I'm concerned. They represent a good time in my life and the music is just plain awesome (even to this day).
