Not having the stems you get better value and a stronger drink. Probably not good when using a gourd but works perfect with a french press.

Excellent Function and Quality
The quality of materials and design is amazing, especially for the price. It went on easy, instructions were clear, and looks like it will last for many years. The pop out stopper is really nice and makes me want to buy more of these to replace my other ones.

Not that great of a unit
The instructions are terrible and hard to understand. It has a charcoal filter with no indication of where to get a replacement. There is a weird odor the water has after processing that has to have additional filtering to remove. The plastic container that collects the water has a very strong plastic smell and I ended up replacing it with something made of glass.
