My older MacBook Pro died and I wanted a newer M1 chip MacBook Pro or MacBook Air to bring all my Time Machine backup to a newer machine. I got a great deal on a used 512gb MacBook Air M1 and it ported over my older Pro’s Time Machine backup perfectly. It is significantly faster and I can hardly tell it has been used before. Even more surprising it has 1 1/2 years of Apple Care coverage still active. So buying a used EBay confirmed restored MacBook was a great purchase.
