Does what it should
Requires more pokes than a previous different brand I had. My previous brand just required me to pick the number I wanted to enter and then poke the space it was to be entered into. This item requires poking the up/down/left or right arrows numerous times to move the flashing cursor to where you want to enter the number. It slows down the game and requires more attention to make sure you are at the right location before entering the number. My previous brand also blanks out the numbers once all 9 locations have been entered. Still looking for a reasonably priced backlit model.

Not what I expected but my bad
A previous model that I have had for 8 yrs. eventually started malfunctioning so, in my hast to find an exact replacement, I didn't realize, until I received it, that this model does not back light like my original one. It also uses button batteries instead of AAA like my original. It operates a bit differently in that an individual number at the bottom doesn't always go out after the last of that number is entered in a correct square. Haven't figured out whether that is supposed to happen or not. Otherwise, I guess it is working fine. I received the item in great condition and when promised.
