An excellent buy, hands down
1 of 1 found this helpful I’ve had Garmin handhelds for over 23 years now. They’re some of the best consumer GPS units out there. This item, although refurbished, came as if it was brand new. No performance issues that I can notice. It is a little slow to load the maps when powering on, but I have a LOT of maps, so that’s understandable. I love the compass and the barometer. I bought this 78S to replace an old 76CS that is still operational after 11 years (but the battery contacts are biting the dust—my fault: I had some batteries leak because I didn’t remove them for a long time).
Buy this GPS with confidence. The price of a refurbished one is unbeatable, and it comes with a 1-year warranty from Garmin.
