I'm not buying my previous soy sauces anymore. Say "no" to cheap black salty water :D
4 of 4 found this helpful Much less salty than cheap factory-made soy sauce. I didn't even have to taste it to see the difference. Right after pouring it onto the plate, you see oily texture, smell rich fragnance, it's just something else. Now I undestand why "cheap sauces" were called "black salty water". Well, don't get me wrong, it's not like maple syrup or honey, it's not THAT oily and sticky. But it's easy to see the difference when typical sauce runs down off the curvature of the plate almost instantly, and this one does it much slower. As for the taste, less salt means you can feel all the other parts much better. It tastes great with plain rice, great with fried with veggies, great with sushi and fish in other forms... I have no idea if there's a thing with which this sauce would taste worse than the cheaper ones. I didn't think the difference would be this big, and I find it odd that anyone would willingly switch from this to them, but hey, I myself didn't know anything better few days ago.. So it's all about knowledge and availability and marketing.. and yeah, this one costs more, but it's worth it. Just like different kinds of balsamic vinegar differ, and just like they make a huge difference compared to plain vinegar :) Alright, anyways - this is SAUCE. It won't fix the dish for you if it's bad. But it can make a good one a great one. It has its particular taste, and I love it, and of course you may too, or you may not, I have no way of telling you how it exactly tastes, but if you like soy sauces in general, and if you ever found common sauces too salty and their "light" versions less salty but also less tasty - please do try this one. I think you'll love it.
