Great value in this lens
4 of 4 found this helpful The only difference between this lens the VR and the VR II is that the VR II is a smaller size then expands to full size. It makes this lens a bargain because it has the same specifications and to tell you the truth I like it better than the new revision. It's not heavy and has enough telephoto range for me. I like to use it with an extender for macro shots. The depth of field is short so you get a lot of blur in the out of focus range.

This is a good device and works pretty well with Lenovo T420
2 of 3 found this helpful It took me 3 days to figure out how to configure it to work with my T420 with only an internal Intel graphics. The main thing is to change the power settings around the ExpressCard slot in BIOS. Had to change from Auto to X1 and the settings below it. I found this inforormation on instructions I searched for and downloaded off of the internet for things to try. I could tell it was working when I could load the NVIDIA Control panel. I also had to disable the Intel graphics driver. The documentation that came with it has some poorly translated English and is sort of helpful. But it does work after a lot of try and error and searching on the internet, so I'm happy :)

I love this lens!
I use this as my go-to lens if I'm going anyplace that will have things that I will want to shoot close up. It not only takes great close up shots, but it's also a prime lens that takes sharp photos for portraits, and landscapes. If I'm going to be taking pictures of birds then I'll take the telephoto zoom, but for any other situation this is going to be on my camera.
