Solid, reputable and overall good quality game camera
I had an earlier 'flash' model (four or more years ago) Moultrie camera which was stolen (along with an excellent solar charging unit) from the back 40 behind my home where I hunt. I made the mistake of replacing it with a competitor's IR model I got on sale. That camera was nothing but trouble, and I tossed it in a closet and bought this Moultrie with the infrared feature.
I like most things about this camera - most importantly, the fact it takes quality pictures day and night, and doesn't fill up your SD card with photos of 'nothing.' It's a fine unit. The photo preview window is handy as well.
Two things I don't like is the near disassembly required to remove the SD card; you have to remove the outer side cover via two thumbscrews, and then (unless you're carrying a needle-nose pliers with you) remove the actual battery compartment cover as well to get your fingers in to where the SD card is located.
The other shortcoming is since my original Moultrie was stolen, I've gotten armored 'lock boxes' to protect my cameras and help deter them from theft. The laser pointer on this model - tremendously useful for positioning the unit - only works with the camera cover open. Most cameras doors are hinged on the side; this one is hinged on the top. When in a 'lock box' (with the box's door open), you can't get the camera cover to open up far enough to utilize the laser aim feature - unless you take it completely out of the box. This is a major pain. The designers should have engineered the laser-aiming option to work with the cover closed like it was on my earlier Moultrie.
Overall though, I've been happy with this Moultrie.

Get the Genuine product!
2 of 2 found this helpful These cutters make a huge improvement. I replace mine annually, and watch out for cheap, foreign-made knock offs as they don't cut whiskers - they PULL them out! = | These are the genuine replacements and work great. Good price, fast shipping, good eBay seller!

Decent enough for an original!
I bought my Homelite 150 new in like 1984, and was happy to find an OEM (even though used) recoil assembly. It works great and matches the original in all respects.
