Excellent winter sports glove for an injured hand
I needed a glove while healing from dislocated fingers wrapped to each other for a three week winter cross country ski trip. This US military sniper's glove was perfect.
The three fingered wool liner can be worn on either hand, and is designed so that my trigger finger can be inserted or removed easily without taking off the glove. The shell trigger finger is pointed to easily slip into a rifle trigger guard. It is also placed back a bit more than I expected at first, but there is a good reason for it. The glove is designed so here is no bulk when firmly gripping a rifle stock or ski pole. The shell has an unpadded leather palm for a solid grip on ski poles, and padded lining on the backhand for extra warmth and protection. The leather is oiled or saddle soaped to make it supple and water resistant. It has adjustable closures across the back of wrist (just like US military field gloves) and a closure up the forearm to snug up against your field jacket to keep the snow out.
A note on the fit. My US glove size is 11.25 (US size Large or sometimes Extra Large depending on the glove). At first the thumb and trigger finger felt too snug with the liner inserted. However, in two hours of use the glove limbered up and shaped to my hand. Perfect design for sports in the winter.
