Some of the stories are NOT appropriate for children, and NOT sing-alongs
This was listed as "DVD presentation of 20 children's sing-along stories". The back of the cover says "Recommended ages 3-8". Some of the stories on the DVD are not sing-along by any means. Furthermore, there are a few biographical stories for singers with language inappropriate for children (i.e. Duke Ellington was a slick "ladies man", "every time a pretty skin was by the piano" he would sing better; descriptions on how an adult would feel when they hear his music; all sorts of jargon language questionable on a scholastic, educational DVD. All the stories about singers' lives are great for adults, but are NOT sing-along stories, and NOT for the children.
This is intended as more than a review; it's also a shutout in the hope someone does a formal review of this DVD to assess if the marketing under tags such as: "Scholastic", "Sing-Along Stories", and "Recommended ages 3-8" is appropriate.
