so far, reliable, easy to use and to charge, inexpensive
unit charges well when plugged in. when removed from outlet, unit lights up immediately when switched to on position. remained brightly lit for over 3 hours unplugged or when power goes on. great value at less than $12 !

effectively reduces heating costs, but cracking & shorting-major conerns
5 of 6 found this helpful i have about 10 of these econe-heat heaters in last 5-6 years. They give out quite a bit of heat for a 400 unit. I have two of these panels in a 150 square foot bedroom with 9 foot tray ceiling. for outside temperatures above 30 F, 2 of these will keep room temperatures in 65-75 F range.
these units are wall mounted with 1 inch spacers between panel and wall. allows both radiant and convection. i have time of use electricity here; off peak hours electricity is 1/2 normal rate, on peak hours electricity costs 2 x normal rate. Using timers on panels has saved me an average of $100 a month on electric bills in typical winter month.
CAUTION: There is a cardboard template that helps you mark screw positions, but if they are not measured and marked exactly, these panels will crack and be inoperative, or could cause short. Company advises against trying to free stand these units. I also had one unit that burned out the power switch, causing smoking and failure of unit. i currently have 11 of these in my 1800 square foot main floor and a 12 x 12 foot insulated room in a pole building. i use the room in pole building for storing band equipment. One of these panels will keep that room above 40 F. The panel is on timer, 15 hours a day at off peak period, costing the equivalent of 7.5 hours normal electricity costs. i have fuel oil fired hot water boiler system here. These panels have reduced a winter fuel costs by 50-70 %
