Audio Technica ATH-AD900X Open-Air Headphones
0 of 3 found this helpful These headphones fulfill a need in my living room. There are times when I want to hear what is going on in the conversation yet also hear the dialogue on the computer. For that purpose, they can't be beat. The sound quality that they reproduce is excellent; However, if you want headphones that deliver DEEP BASE you may be disappointed. These don't cut it. I am spoiled by my Def Tech 3000 speakers, with their 18" powered subwoofers, so that may explain my jadedness. I have yet to find good headphones costing less than $300, and even then they could all use an adjustable preamp for different recording styles. Just the techie in me, I guess.

Lightweight brightly lit keys
I have replaced all 3 of my keyboards with this one. Key are very brightly lit, full size, responsive. The only negative I have is that it is not spill-proof, and the manufacturer hasn't really addressed my question about repair of a spill on the keyboard. Nevertheless, you can occasionally find these refurbished online for about $40, a great bargain for a great backlit keyboard. I'm just trying to find the refurbisher! I own 5, of which 1 has been spilled on and doesn't work, but I happily replaced it with a new one. Bought 3, dropped one on the corner of a piece of furniture and lost the caps lock key and couldn't stick it back on, spilled on one, so both problems were my own fault, so I bought 2 more, all for about $40 apiece with free shipping. Would buy again in a heartbeat. A great keyboard, you can always see the keys.

A Great Receiver at an Awesome Price
The Pioneer Elite series of state of the art receivers, while slightly dated, are among the best ever designed. If you are looking for high power and features in a receiver that is 8 years old, you have come to the right place. If you are a newbie looking for wireless connectivity (other than the remote), this is not for you. I am an old school hifi fanatic that doesn't need or expect many of the newer features, primarily bluetooth, that have been developed in the last 5 years. This has an iPhone connection, just about all the home theater features you could look for, 7 channels at 140 watts per channel(!), 1080p HDMI input and output. It lacks 4K output, but how many 4K DVD's can you buy today? Let alone how many stations broadcast 4K?
My suggestion? Do a Google search on Pioneer Elite VSX94-TXH (don't worry about caps) and read the reviews. It was Pioneer's flagship in 2008. As such, it is worth studying if you are planning to spend upwards of $1000 or more on today's receivers, when you can find one of these for half that or less if you search and wait. I bought a VSX-74 TXVi many years ago for quite a bit more money, and am still pleased with it, then found a couple of these for about $300 with $40 shipping (these weigh close to 40 lbs.!). Make sure you get the FM antenna and the MC/ACC microphone for setup. You probably will have to find these at Pioneer or aftermarket. The remotes that all the reviewers complain about, but I don't have a problem with, Pioneer AXD7504, are occasionally available on eBay, brand new for about $50 from China. Keep hunting!
