80's Translation of Marsilio Ficino's book the Symposium.
Yep, this is a translation on Marsilio Ficino's book the Symposium. But the thing is there is other books out there that do the exact same thing, I'm not aware if they have the exact same content, but I do know they are much cheaper than this book. So if you want the same thing for cheaper then get something like "On the Nature of Love". But with that said, I think this book does a decent job not only with the translation but also explaining the book in the beginning. Recommended only to big fans of Fincino's work.

Cookbook and Biography
Not his whole biography of course, just that particular moment in time with him, his family, and the food he loved. The food that he shares with his family, this is that book, and he's teaching us how to make it. This is the cookbook part of it, there are recipes I guarantee you have never heard of before, not to mention how ugly the pictures of food are (after all, nothing is perfect in a normal kitchen) all from his experiences of being a cook in NY and traveling around the world; it gives you a real sense of how this guy was such a special chef. Not only that, but it also gives you his idea's of certain views in regards of cooking, like sandwiches and a game plan for Thanksgiving.
So basically, if you like this guy, or you want something you've never seen or made before, or you just want an interesting read on food from a chef, then yes it's worth it.
