DEXTER RUSSELL SB12-6 Knife, Skinning

Nice thick high carbon blade!

I bought this knife in hopes it would have the same good quality high carbon blade the old school wooden handled J. Russell knives have. It's not exactly the same, but not that much different. I work for the USDA and the other inspectors tried my knife on a beef head and were amazed at the sharpness and durability of the blade! It's easy to stone too.

Subpar ceramic rod

I can't always bring an edge back to my knives with this ceramic as opposed to a dexter version that has a handle. I wanted a replacement rod and thought this would be perfect, but I have to say it's not very good. To make sure it wasn't just me, I had other coworkers try it against their ceramic rods. They all let me know it wasn't very good quality also. We all work in a packing house and use knives daily.
