Series should end

The plots are great. The descriptions are awesome but....
It could be that while I love the way Penny writes , I despise her hero Gamache & his wife and Clara the artist. They are exactly what their detractors in the series say they are so I have no empathy for them. I do love Ruth the poet & Jean Guy.
Its time for Gamache to retire and Penny to start a new book or series.

Not how it looks
1 of 1 found this helpful This looked perfect for my parakeets. When it arrived one piece was damaged but usable and one piece was broken.
It was a PIA to assemble- I expected maybe a half hour to put to together ( and I'm pretty handy at stuff like that) but it took over two hours. The directions are a bad copy that's barely readable. It says you can use a "regular" pair of pliers to crimp the ends as most pliers will fit between the bars. Nope. None of mine did. I had to borrow a pair of needlenose to get it done.
The cage is big and spacey for flight and climbing but not sturdy. The sides bow out so that the perches are too short and had to be clipped on either end to stay stable.
Had I seen it in a store I would not have bought it. The photo is deceiving on its stability and strength. IMO, absolutely do not purchase this for anything bigger or stronger than a finch, canary or 'keet. It won't hold it.
This is nothing against the seller- its the product itself and the way its boxed from the factory.

A compelling period vampire story
This is the 5th in this series. If you love the "modern sexy" vampire vs gory Dracula styles this is the series for you.
There are no explicit sex scenes that have nothing to do with the plot other than to fill the pages- there are accurate historical settings, 3-d characters you empathize with and the wonderful vampire Don Simon Ysidro.
If you want vampires AND a real story/plot- read this series. It is set in a time line so start at the beginning and willing fall prey to those who hunt the night.
