Handy with good sound but new model has Bluetooth connection issues
UPDATE: Quite frustrated with the Bluetooth; my phone will randomly connect even when both earbuds are in the case, and it frequently takes a couple of tries to get it to connect when I actually want it to.
ORIGINAL REVIEW
The good:
Very nice setup that fits comfortably in my ear with decent noise isolation and good sound.
As long as you are using both earbuds, it has easy controls for the phone (answering and ending calls, pausing and playing music, adjusting volume, skipping tracks, and activating Siri.
I rarely need to think about charging, as the buds charge in the case and the case keeps them going for a long time between needing to be plugged in.
The bad:
They stick out just a little too far to sleep rest the side of my head on a pillow for sleeping.
Talking on the phone is generally fine, but since the microphone is all the way on the side of my head with nothing directing it towards my mouth, too much background noise can easily overwhelm the conversation.
This is the second T3 I’ve had, and they changed how the earbuds pair. With the first set, I could remove either earbud and put it in that ear and it connected and worked great. If I took the other one out it would pair and I’d get stereo. With this one, I can’t use the left earbud alone without messing with Bluetooth settings, and getting the left one to pair with the right is a bit tricky. I often have to put them back in the case and then carefully remove the right one first, wait for it to connect, and then quickly remove the left one.

Best balance of comfort, weight, and packability
1 of 1 found this helpful I’ve tried a few different pads and the Klymit V series are the first that I could sleep on in relative comfort. The standard ones were too narrow for my wide shoulders tho. I was going to get the 30 inch “Luxe” version but it was over a half pound of extra weight to carry.
The Luxe SL is pretty close to perfect; 27 inches is just wide enough to not feel like my arms are falling off. It’s even big enough to share if you can sleep while spooning :D And only a few ounces more than the standard ones!
Getting the air out and rolling it up is the only slightly annoying thing. Seems like you basically have to roll it twice; once flat to get the air out and then again folded to get it back in the bag.

Best all-purpose regional nature guide
I take it with me almost any time I go hiking or to a natural area. Doesn’t go into a lot of detail on any one species, but has just enough information to start identifying everything from rocks to plants to mammals. I’ve got a smart phone; if I need more detailed info once I’ve got a general idea from the book, I’ll just look it up online.
Every other field guide I’ve found is too specific and therefore limited in scope. I’m not just a bird watcher or flower lover; I love it all and don’t want to carry a bunch of books around.
There’s one of these for each major natural region in the United States; I would love to buy them all and use them on an epic road trip!
