Solved two problems for me...
After I put a set of riser bars on my wife’s bike, I knew I would need to extend the brake and shifter cable housings. What I didn’t know was that some of Jagwire’s cable sets (like on wifey’s bike) use 4.5mm shift cable housing. Of course, I didn’t have the 4.5mm versions of these that I would have preferred to use, but after a couple of (in)appropriate words and a little head scratching, I decided to just use the 5mm units on the 4.5mm housing. Works fine, and the sizes are close enough to right that it looks just fine too, giving a nice visual and functional result without springing $40 for a whole new set of cables. Time and $$ saved!

Nice option for an older rig
When your seven speed shifters cash in, you’ll find your choices limited, but there are still some possibilities if you don’t mind twist grip shifters. I just put a set of these on a friend’s 30 year old Trek, and they were quick and easy to set up and have light, positive action. They aren’t glamorous, they just work, and with a grand total of two moving parts, they will likely keep on working for a long time. Don’t feel bad about the price, they work as well as shifters that cost four or five times more. So if you need seven speed triple shifters, these units get it done.

A small masterpiece.
A seatpost clamp is a small detail in the overall impression of one's bike, but an elegant, exquisitely machined clamp really upgrades the gestalt of your ride. These are really beautiful, and come at a very modest price point. Quality is excellent; these will enhance any bike fortunate enough to wear one.
